TESTIMONIalS
I met Michael several years ago when I was seeking a vocal teacher for myself. I sing professionally in a band, and was looking to hone my technique. After working with Michael for a short time, it was apparent that he was incredibly educated and gifted in what he does. At that point, my teenage daughter was expressing interest in learning how to sing, so he began working with her. She was a shy freshman in high school who had no real experience with singing or performing, but she had a beautiful instrument and a passion to sing. He took her raw talent and transformed her into a stellar vocalist with proper training and technique. But, he didn’t stop there. Michael is so much more than just a voice teacher – while he is outstanding at teaching correct technique and skills to develop the instrument, he also addresses all of the mental aspects of becoming a good singer. He teaches confidence, poise, and becomes a mentor. He works to figure out mental barriers and how to handle nerves. He goes way above and beyond to make sure that there are opportunities for growth and that he can support in any way possible. He is interested in developing the whole person – and from this, the performer blooms. After working with Michael for 4 years, she is now attending Wichita State University on a full scholarship studying for a degree in voice performance all thanks to Michael. - Cari M.

"My son has studied with Michael for a little over a year now. The progress he has made is nothing short of amazing. Not only have we witnessed improved tone and power, but have also seen our son become able to interpret a piece of music and convey emotions the composer intended. My only regret is that we didn't start lessons with Michael sooner." - Sarah W.

"Michael Rocchio knows how the voice works, and how to communicate that knowledge to his students in a crystal clear manner.
I made more vocal progress in the first few lessons with Michael than in years of study with reputable university teachers." - James H., Bass

"Michael (Rock) is the most patient and insightful teacher I have had in any endeavor. I'm 70 years old and have two doctoral degrees, and have spent my life teaching as well. He is almost as much therapist as teacher but as such he has opened a wonderful door for self expression, joy, and just plain fun. I look forward each week to my time with him and come away reinvigorated and still singing.
I take pleasure in sharing my new-found abilities with others. He makes me a better teacher as well with his insights." - Steve G., Tenor

"I came to Michael's studio as a struggling soprano right after my freshman year of college. I was very reserved and lived with a fear of opening up to people - not to mention I had spent my whole life singing in a way that was damaging my voice. Michael started to fix all of that in just a couple of lessons. We spent time laughing - sometimes my lessons turned into some semblance of a therapy session - my insecurities about myself, and my voice washed away with every lesson, The learning portions of the lessons were where all the magic happened. Every week my voice felt freer and more open. I left Michael two summers later a more confident soprano with a blossoming mezzo range. I am forever indebted to him for all the help he's given me. He is one of the finest musicians and human beings I've ever had the pleasure to work with and learn from,. If you are a struggling singer, or just need to fine tune your voice, or have never sung before, I will always recommend Michael." - Theresa P., Mezzo-Soprano

"Michael, six months ago I came to you as a somewhat defeated vocalist. I hadn't improved much after years of 'trying' to sing and I was not satisfied with my voice. After losing out on a musical opportunity and being told it was because of my weak singing abilities I decided to do something about it. After speaking with you I chose to begin lessons at your studio and have been making steady progress week by week. You have a unique ability to diagnose incorrect technique, bad habits and vocal problems, then communicate the proper technique of singing so that it is understandable and achievable. My real voice is starting to come alive for the first time. Recently, after singing at an event I received this compliment, "You have an awesome voice, what a set of pipes!" That's a big change in six short months.
Thanks! I can’t wait to see what the next six months will bring." - Ben G., Baritone

My name is Leslie. I’m a professional singer. When I first started coming to Michael for voice lessons I was suffering from chronic vocal fatigue and throat pain due to a poor singing technique. With Michael, I have learned how to sing as loud and as much as I want without vocal fatigue. I sound better than ever, and keep improving with every lesson.

If you are looking for an amazing vocal coach, he is without a doubt the best. Not only does he help you improve, and find your true voice, he takes time to get to know, appreciate, and care for all of his students. Michael is a joy to have as a vocal coach. He’s like a vocal coach, therapist, friend and “grandpa” all in one. That’s what makes him truly impeccable. -Leslie S., Mezzo-Soprano

"I was extremely surprised by Mr. Rocchio from day 1. As time has passed I've realized more and more just how smart he is. He always has a trick to push me through to the next level of singing. Perhaps more important than that he is insanely fun to work with and just be around. There never seems to be a dull lesson." - Adam G., Bass

"Maestro is a fantastic teacher! I would sing his praises (seriously, no pun intended) all day long. He makes you feel very comfortable and gives you constructive criticism in a kind way. You can easily tell that he absolutely loves what he does and that passion is contagious. I look forward to my lesson as one of the highlights of my week. Regardless of whether you are a professional singer or not, you couldn't find a better teacher!" - Riah H., Alto

"Michael has changed my whole approach to singing. With his vast musical understanding, knowledge and experience he is able to quickly determine exactly where the trouble spots are in a singer’s technique and can illustrate precisely how to fix the problem(s) in just a few words. He has renewed my confidence in my own abilities and has shown me how the correct support and vocal placement can expand one’s range, smooth out the vibrato, and allow great sound to come from a singer’s instrument with very little effort. His method and vocal exercises work for singers of all genres of music.” - Karen F., Mezzo-Soprano

On a personal note, I just want to say how much I appreciate everything you are doing for me. I am grateful each and every week for your patience and your willingness to work with me as well as your amazing generosity. You are the only voice teacher I've ever met, especially of your caliber, who cares more about helping a student than making as much money as possible. You are a rare treasure with tremendous character and it is an honor and a privilege to work with you.” - Michael S., Tenor

"I started taking vocal lessons to prevent vocal strain. I have been singing a lot of Pop music which requires a great deal of power and I was walking away from performances with vocal strain every time. Michael taught me proper warm up and singing exercises that have helped me to perform long periods of time and not feel wiped out. He has also given great advice on making better choices on material I sing. I feel, regardless of the genre of music you are singing, clearly Michael Rocchio will help you to sound the best you can sound.

Thank you Michael!" - Carla G., Mezzo-Soprano
